Have you ever thought you would love to be able to capture the scene in front of you, but are afraid to start? Do you sketch regularly, but would like some tips on how to improve?
Sketching makes you look harder, and really appreciate what you are seeing. It is a great way to enhance your memories of a lovely time. Intrigued?
Join Siân for an afternoon of sketching in Lukesland Gardens
Wednesday 3rd May 2.00pm to 4.30pm
The afternoon will comprise of a short demonstration of pencil techniques that are useful for making sketches, and some tips on how to consider your subject matter so that you can make a meaningful or useful sketch. Not all drawing is about creating masterful pieces of artwork! Siân will show you how to enjoy your time sketching, making creative memories. While sketching we pay more attention to our surroundings that we otherwise might. You will find that your sketches enhance your memory of a your time in the garden. of course, they may also serve you well as preparation for a full painting.
Participants bring their own materials. At the minimum you will need paper, pencils, a sharpener , an eraser and something to rest your work on. You may bring other materials if you wish ( e.g. watercolour) but the afternoon’s tuition will be based on sketching with pencils.
SUITABLE FOR ALL ABILITIES, BEGINNERS TO THE MORE EXPERIENCED. ALL YOU NEED IS ENTHUSIASM!
Please note that to an extent this event is weather dependent. In the event of the weather being too poor for us to go ahead, I will postpone to another date, and will inform participants by email and by posting the information on this page. If you are unable to attend the new date you will be refunded in full.
Booking is advised as there are a maximum number of 12 places. You may pay on the day if places are available.
